A stinking yellow mystery substance soiled the streets of Pembroke last night, running from the roundabout at the end of Main Street all the way down Well Hill.
"The substance was fluorescent yellow and had a strong chemically smell to it," said an eyewitness. "It looked like nuclear waste."
Fire fighters and police were called to the spill. A fire crew from Pembroke Dock used absorbent granules to clean up the road.
A spokesman for the fire service said it was an unidentified substance and that there was a large amount of it. The police also said it was unclear what the yellow liquid was.
