The magic of musical theatre will be given the X Factor treatment next month at the Rhyl Pavilion.

Rhydian Roberts, runner-up in the TV talent show in 2007, and fellow X Factor alumnus – and G4 frontman – Jonathan Ansell will harmonise their spine-tingling vocal dynamism in Rhyl show Les Musicals, which will feature the very best of Broadway and the West End.

The leading men will put their winning chemistry to good use, providing a unique spin on a dizzying array of hits including classics from Les Miserables, Phantom Of The Opera, Blood Brothers, Wicked, Jesus Christ Superstar, Carousel, West Side Story, The Lion King, Miss Saigon, Chess, Rocky Horror Show, We Will Rock You and more.

After shooting to fame on X Factor, Rhydian quickly became a fan favourite for both his trademark white hair and the command of his magnificent voice, enduring way beyond the usual Christmas single cycle of many of his peers and becoming a true star beyond the show.

As part of his tireless schedule, the Welshman has become well acquainted with Rhyl over the years, performing in the town in December 2013 as part of the annual free Christmas Pops concert as well as hitting the Pavilion stage in 2015 as Prince Charming in the Christmas panto, Cinderella.

Joining the star is 2004 contestant Ansell, who finished in second place with his already fully formed pop-opera boyband G4, going on to sell more than 1.5 million albums in the UK and completing five staggering sell-out tours.

Not content to rejuvenate interest in the opera classics, Ansell has also enjoyed a successful solo career.

Having debuted on the stage in Whistle Down The Wind, he played the lead in the UK tour of Beauty and the Beast and even returned to reality television by competing in ITV’s Superstar, finishing second in the bid for the lead role in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar.

The opportunity to witness the expertise of two of titan virtuoso performers is not to be missed for any self respecting fan of musical theatre.

Les Musicals is at the Pavilion on on Friday, June 22 at 7:30pm.

Tickets are £23.50, with concessions and are available from rhylpavilion.co.uk or by calling the box office on 01745 330000.
