A TWO-man band will tip toe out of the tulips for masterclass in the amazing range of the ukulele in Llandudno Junction

Double bass an ukulele duo Dead Mans Uke are bringing their unique brand of dirt swing, hokum and old blues to Llandudno Junction Labour Club.

The father and son duo have been redefining the ukulele around the world, playing in such hot spots as Las Vegas, Paris and Prague, thrilling a growing legion of fans with their distinctive rockabilly style.

Dad Tim Smithies plays hypnotic rhythms on a metal resonator ukulele that once belonged to 60s Stateside star Tiny Tim, accompanied by the energetic bass lines of son Jake, bringing the slap bass sound of the Sun Records rock’n’roll style of the 1950s.

Event organiser, and member of support act Ukulele Party, Phil Hartley-Williams said: "Forget what you think you know about the ukulele, they're just dynamite!"

For another take on the ukulele, head to the Labour club on Saturday, June 30 at 8pm.

Tickets are £6, to book call Ray’s Info line on 07968 957177.
