SCOLTON Manor is hosting a special Jazz Age Prohibition Party on Friday, August 16.
The party aims to highlight the Jazz Age Costume Exhibition currently on display in the former manor house – as well as being an excuse for some fun!
“We have a special display of flapper fashions on show in Scolton Manor this season and we thought it would be a good idea to highlight it with a Jazz Prohibition party,” said Catriona Hilditch, Collections Manager for the Pembrokeshire Museums Service.
“With the First World War over, the 1920s were a time when the good times rolled – at least for some. It was an age of jazz and cocktails and Cole Porter songs – when fashions, particularly for women, changed dramatically.
“Back in those times Scolton Manor was still a private family home and would undoubtedly have hosted similar Jazz Age parties.”
The Jazz Age Prohibition Party kicks off at 7pm (until 10pm) with a buffet and band - The Tudor Kings of Rhythm.
Tickets cost £12 and need to be booked in advance by calling 01437 731328.
Meanwhile the Jazz Age Costume display continues at Scolton until October 31.
