BRIDGEND band The Blims are set to return to the Queen’s Hall on popular demand this Saturday (July 12).

The folk rock group boasts numerous hits, most notably the single “Side Steps and Side Burns” which reached number one in the iTunes Rock chart, and racked up thousands of hits on YouTube. Other noteworthy singles include “Love Letters to Wales”, “Fat Russell Brand”, and “Thinkin’ at the Golden Cups”.

Influenced by the likes of Jack Johnson, Mumford & Sons, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones and Donovan Frankenreiter, the band largely centre their music around real life experiences in Wales, meaning most of us can relate to their lyrical style in some way or another.

The group consist of frontman Martin Dann on acoustic and vocals, Mike Platt on lead guitar, Kevin Trickey on bass and vocals, and Mark Jenkins on the drums. Their live performances are said to transform shows into parties and crowds into friends.

On the night, the line-up will be completed with support from the up and coming Dan Bettridge, and Milford Haven band, The Pennysows.

Doors open at 8.30pm, and tickets will be £8.
