THIS summer the Torch Theatre presents a season of classic films screened outdoors at sunset in three beautiful Pembrokeshire locations.

The season opened last night with Mamma Mia!, screened in the grounds of Picton Castle in Haverfordwest.

Tonight, Thursday, August 14, it's the turn of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, screened at the Trevayne campsite in Saundersfoot. Directed by Steven Spielberg, the 1977 American science fiction classic tells the story of Roy Neary, an everyday blue collar worker in Indiana, whose life changes after an encounter with an unidentified flying object.

Finally, the season closes tomorrow, Friday, August 15, with Dirty Dancing, screened at Stackpole Estate near Pembroke. This much loved classic follows Frances "Baby" Houseman (Jennifer Grey) coming of age through her relationship with dance instructor Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze) during her family’s summer vacation.

‘Doors’ open for each screening at 7pm, with the films starting as soon as the sun has gone down – approx. 9.15pm. Tickets are £6 in advance (£3.50 concessions and £16 for a family ticket) and £7.50 on the day (£5.50 concessions and £24 for a family ticket).
