THERE’S a sizzling summer spectacular in store for Pembrokeshire music lovers when Tony Jacobs and Friends present A Swell Party at Fishguard’s Theatr Gwaun on Wednesday, August 20.

Featuring the effervescent and highly talented Jim Barry Quintet, the concert is another Music in Pembrokeshire production and provides a warm-up to the Aberjazz Fishguard Jazz and Blues Festival.

Fans can revel in some of the great, foot-tapping hits of the 20s, 30s and 40s from such all-time great composers as Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, the Gershwins, Rodgers and Hart.

Tony Jacobs leads from the front with his songs and trumpet solos but this time he features brilliant international jazz vocalist Louise Cookman who has appeared in concerts across Europe and the UK, singing with all the top big bands including the BBC Big Band and the Glenn Miller UK Orchestra.

“I’m delighted to get this chance to bring my musical mates back to Pembrokeshire,” said Tony.

“We had a great reception for the Steve Ross night and now Louise Cookman will be the icing on the cake for a really ‘swell party’.”

The concert is supported by Conygar, Stena Line and Aberjazz and tickets are available at Theatr Gwaun on 01348 873421 or Seaways Bookshop on 01348 873433.
