THE Small World Theatre, Cardigan, is set to welcome a new wave of contemporary Welsh music this Friday.

Gabrielle Murphy, the latest artist to be featured on the BBC Horizon show, will be performing alongside another rising star, Delyth Mclean.

Residing from Treherbert in the Rhondda Valley, Gabrielle began her musical journey when she performed a startling debut set at S?n Festival last year, earning herself an immediate invitation to come and play live that night on BBC Radio Wales. Remarkably, she is still just 18 years old.

From a young age Gabrielle has sung covers, however now she is resolutely focused on writing her own lyrics.

BBC Radio Wales presenter Adam Walton commented: “Her most recent recording, ‘Lockdown’, is a hit single in waiting, one of the rare occasions where modern R&B glories in its soulful roots in Rhythm and Blues.”

Also performing on the night will be jazz/folk musician Delyth Mclean. Having just returned from performing at Green Man Fest last month, and appearing on BBC Wales last Sunday for a live session, the future would seem to be bright for Delyth.
