NOTHING screams Christmas more than a local radio DJ dressed in a glittering outfit and an excited audience screaming 'he's behind you!'

Yes, it's that time of year again when our much loved childhood classics are adapted for the stage for families to enjoy.

This year audiences at the Lyric theatre, Carmarthen will be treated to the ever-popular tale of Cinderella, starring Radio Pembrokeshire’s Jay Curtis- as DJ- Dandini. He will be joined on stage by fellow radio presenter Helen Enser Morgan as Cinderella’s evil stepmother — the Countess of Caerfyrddin.

Welsh actress Emily Tucker (Sioned Rees in S4C’s Pobl y Cwm) takes on the title role of Cinderella and TV’s Marc Skone as the love-struck prince.

Jay said: "The schedule is pretty tight at the moment. My day involves hosting several radio shows, followed by some serious line learning, singing and dancing. But I’m so excited. This is my first time doing pantomime at a professional level."

He added: “Whatever age you are, pantomime takes you into a magical, festive world. I play such a loveable character - he’s warm, funny and it’s almost like he’s the audience’s best friend."

Grab your wand and wait and see the pumpkin transformed into a glittering carriage for Cinderella and don’t forget to join in with the antics of the Ugly Sisters too.

Cinderella is at the Lyric Theatre from Wednesday, December 10 to Sunday, December 21.
