VISITORS to the National Botanic Garden will be encourage to 'go wild' this weekend.
The garden at Llanarthne, is hosting the third annual Wales Wildflower Day on Sunday, June 28.
Nature lovers will get the chance to get up close and personal, not only with a whole host of wildflowers, especially the orchid-rich meadows, but with the insects, butterflies and moths which mingle with the wild plant life.
A series of expert-led tours will take place around one of the Garden’s traditionally-managed hay meadows and there will be a chance to see how artists, sculptors and photographers use wildflowers to inspire their creativity.
Organiser Bruce Langridge said: “All this takes place just a few minutes from the Garden’s Four Seasons restaurant. It’s a great chance to join plant enthusiasts, artists, herbalists and pollinator experts in being inspired by Welsh wildflowers.
“We’re hoping visitors will also bring their sketchbooks, paints and easels, and sit in our meadow and be inspired by our wonderful plants.”
The Garden is open from 10am to 6pm with last entry at 5pm. Admission to the Garden is £9.75 (including Gift Aid).
Entry is free for Garden members and parking is free for all.
