THERE'S a chance to see an original play written by local storytellers in the county next week.

‘A Grimmer Tale’, based on the stories of the Brothers Grimm, is the latest production from the Eastend Flyover Company.

Written by local storyteller Owain Roach, scriptwriter Naomi Chiffi and Flyover chairman Angharad Scourfield, the production will be performed at the Penquoit Centre, Lawrenny from Monday to Wednesday.

Following on last year’s successful, sell-out production of Private Peaceful, Flyover have been working collaboratively with pupils and staff at Castle School, Cresselly, many of whom are contributing to the show both on and off stage.

With original music from local harpist Jess Ward and traditional music from Welsh folk band Estron, the show looks to be an exciting event not only for theatre-goers but also for fans of Pembrokeshire's wonderful live music scene.

Audience members are invited to take along a blanket and a bottle.

"This is not your average night at the theatre," say the team behind it.

The play runs from Monday, July 6, to Wednesday, July 8, with performances at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £7.50, £5 concessions, and can be purchased at Main Street Music, Pembroke, Cwtch Café, Pembroke Dock and Tenby Bookshop.
