A UNIQUE presentation, The Crow and the Canary, comes to Tenby Storytelling Cafe, Caffe Vista on November 6.
A new visual storytelling performance piece, this is the story of the meeting between Dylan Thomas and the fairy tale collector Myra Evans, whose stories and family were a significant influence on the poet's life and work.
Pieced together from oral history and interviews with family members, it is a unique collaboration between two musicians - Ceri Owen Jones (harp) and Elsa Davies (violin) - and storyteller and visual artist Peter Stevenson.
Featuring stories collected by Myra in the early 20th century, Dylan's poem the Ballad of the Long Legged Bait, a live musical soundtrack composed by Elsa Davies, and a full length magical lantern show featuring a couple of hundred slides painted by Stevenson, the performance marries word, image and sound.
