FOLK BAND Razor Bill are bravely ignoring spooky signs to return to their roots.

Exactly a year ago, the south Pembrokeshire band were ready to do a gig in Jameston Community Hall, which is where they first got together and still often practice.

But in a Hallowe'en art workshop in 2015, the hall's heavy speakers suddenly fell off their wall mountings and nearly landed on the treasurer, Jean Anslow.

So the hall had to be closed and the gig moved to Penally at the eleventh hour.

Said Razor Bill's banjo, guitar and accordion player, Matt Roberts: "We did wonder whether it was a sort of omen - someone or something warning us not to play there. It was all a bit spooky really."

But this year, they're risking it and will be in Jameston hall from 7.30pm on Saturday November 12 - taking along their own sound system this time.

Added fiddle player Helen Stoddart: "Penally was great, but we love this little hall, so when they asked us to perform this year, nothing was going to stop us - Hallowe'en happenings or not."
