THE National Theatre Live’s repeat screening of ‘Obsession’ starring Jude Law is to be shown at Cardigan’s Theatr Mwldan.

Law (The Young Pope, Closer, The Talented Mr Ripley) plays Gino, the magnetically handsome drifter to Halina Reijn’s unhappily married Hanna in this ambitious new stage adaptation of Luchino Visconti’s 1943 film (in turn based on the novel The Postman Always Rings Twice).

Directed by Ivo van Hove, hot on the heels of his 2016 triumph A View from the Bridge and latterly Hedda Gabler, this is a stunning, smouldering, psychological study in erotic obsession.

Jointly produced by the Barbican and Toneelgroep Amsterdam, Law is muscular and brooding; Reijn, extraordinary, transforming anguished solitude into destructive passion.

A dark, psychological tale, examining the relationship of a couple, the power of seduction and how far they will go to be with each other.

The screening will take place on Wednesday May 17 at 7pm, with tickets priced at £12.50 (£11.50), available from Theatr Mwldan box office.
