DREADZONE, one of the most energetic, exciting and powerful live bands to emerge from the post-rave scene, are to play Cardigan Castle on Friday, July 14 with support from Wales’ own beat-boxing pioneer Mr Phormula.

Since their inception in 1993 Dreadzone have steadily been releasing underground storms of albums, refining and perfecting their own unique and inimitable take on dub - mixed as it is with aspects of dance, sublime guitar riffs, folk roots sentiments and breakbeat bass styles.

They bring the party to every club, dancehall and field they’ve shown up at, including the closing set for the Leftfield stage at Glastonbury this year.

Dreadzone released brand new album “Dread Times” in February 2017, which stormed into the Top 40 UK Official Album Charts on release.

The album, released on their own Dubwiser label, also made the Top 10 in the Indie and Dance Charts. Whether you’re a veteran or have only recently discovered them, this promises to be a brilliant night.

From Wales, Mr Phormula is one of the pioneers of the UK beat-boxing scene. With a career as diverse as the Welsh landscape within which he is rooted Mr Phormula’s inspired performances and vocal compositions have gained him international recognition as a leading beatboxer, rapper and producer.

The fluidity of Mr Phormula’s bilingualism is distinctive and this, along with slick rhythms, compelling bass lines and vocal dexterity, have earned him a broad and commited fanbase from across Cymru, the UK and the USA.

Titles include being the current Welsh Looping champion and in 2013 he was the Vice UK Looping Champion.

Tickets, priced £17.50, are available from Theatr Mwldan’s box office on 01239 621200 and online at www.mwldan.co.uk. Music from 7.45pm, doors open at 6.30pm.
