A MEAN, green monster of a musical takes to the stage of Saundersfoot’s Regency Hall next week.

The accomplished and adventurous Saundersfoot Footlights are staging the hilarious 1950s spoof, Little Shop of Horrors, as their Whitsun week production.

The kooky plot sees florist’s assistant Seymour (Jordan Dickin) pining for his co-worker Audrey (Tessa Rees), who has a knack of attracting unsuitable boyfriends.

Add Audrey II, a man-eating plant from outer space, to make the perfect recipe for feel-good entertainment.

Meanwhile, the Footlights orchestra, led by musical director Clive Raymond, is tuning up to share the show’s fabulous songs with audiences.

The show is being directed by Allison Butler, who said: “Little Shop of Horrors is a wonderful show to produce.

“So many people love the show and have a very specific idea of how it should look and sound, so the challenge has been to give people what they want, while still putting our own spin on it.

“The talented Footlights team have been working incredibly hard for months to re-create Skid Row, and I’m proud to say they’ve pulled it out of the bag once again.

“The cast are all amazing, which, of course, makes my job all the easier!

“I’m very proud of what we have produced and I can’t wait to share it with our audiences.”

Little Shop of Horrors will be on stage at the Regency Hall from Monday, May 28, to Friday, June 1.

Tickets are £10 at saundersfootamdram.co.uk, or from the Regency Hall, Little & Large in Saundersfoot; Dale’s in Tenby and Ocky White Travel in Haverfordwest.
