The Michael McGoldrick Band, one of the most adventurous, exciting and high energy names in Irish music, comes to Theatr Mwldan, Cardigan tomorrow (Thursday), for an exclusive Welsh date on a short UK tour. It’s a rare chance to see this inspirational seven-piece band perform live.
Michael McGoldrick is one of the most vital, inventive and sophisticated musicians in the country. A legend on the flute, he is also master of whistles and Uillean pipes.
He is a member of Scottish folk legends Capercaillie and has worked with Youssou N’Dour, the Afro Celt Soundsystem and Lunasa, as well as founding the legendary Celtic rock band Toss the Feathers and groundbreaking folk band Flook.
His band’s jaw-dropping live sets are truly special, bringing McGoldrick’s lyrical and pulsating flute and pipe playing to the fore, against a musical backdrop of mesmerising grooves, sounds and attitude. Tickets for the Michael McGoldrick Band at Theatr Mwldan are £17 or £16 concessions. Visit www.mwldan.co.uk or call 01239 621200 to book.
