A former Fishguard High School student is returning to his roots.
Now a professional performance poet, Dominic Berry is staging a one-off show at Fishguard Library, in July.
Dominic, who lives in Manchester, grew up on Strumble Head and attended Fishguard High School, now Ysgol Bro Gwaun.
His one-man show on Thursday, July 2nd, will help raise money for Fishguard’s lifeboats through the RNLI.
“I feel very welcomed by the people at the library and am excited about what will be the first time I present my work anywhere in Wales,” he said.
“I lived in Strumble Head from aged eight to 18 — important years in anyone’s life — so this show is very significant to me and I feel fortunate to be able to stage it in Fishguard.
“I still have family in Pembrokeshire and when I visit I am always interested in how I see Fishguard changing.
“Some of my work is about those changes, about the happy and unhappy times I had growing up, and ultimately how lovely I think it is that there are people in Fishguard interested in supporting this kind of art.”
Dominic’s show starts at 6.30pm and is free, although donations to RNLI would be appreciated.
