The sixth annual Pembroke Dock Midsummer festival gets underway this weekend, starting with a free family craft day and finishing off with a street party, which will bring Dimond Street to a halt.

There are events going on throughout the week, many free of charge.

The first day on Saturday, June 18th, will see a free family craft event at Pembroke Dock Youth Centre from 10am-4pm. SpacetoCreate helping with making birds of paradise, which will be seen later in the week at the Fun Day and Street Party.

Later that night there is a night of music at the Quins with the Railroad Bill Skiffle Group.

Sunday, June 19th, will see a special Father’s Day celebration in the Memorial Park, with bungee trampolines, bouncy castle and climbing walls to name but a few attractions. Later on there is a free pub quiz at the First and Last from 9pm.

Monday, June 20th, will see Brian Pratt give one of his popular tours of the area meeting at the Library at 11am. Meet at the Shipwright, Front Street, at 6pm for a historic pub walk with local historian Keith Johnson.

From 1.30pm-2.30pm on Tuesday 21st, a strawberry tea afternoon will be held at the Anchorage, followed by a Guntower event at the Shipwright, Front Street, at 7.30pm.

There will be a teddy bears picnic with Springboard in the park on Wednesday, June 22nd, with face painting and activities.

Events on Thursday 23rd will start off with a walk around the heart of Pembroke Dock with David James. Meet at the library at 2pm.From 3pm-5pm there will be an open afternoon at the West Wales Maritime Heritage Boatyard, Front Street.

An underwater clean up at Hobbs Point will take place at 7pm with the NARC crew before the big school bike ride through Pembroke Dock at 10am on Friday.

All the events will culminate to the street party day on Saturday, June 25th, when Dimond Street will be closed off and will be full of activities including a performance from the Vice School of Dance.

The party will run from noon until 5pm.
