WITH Christmas fast approaching and festive shopping well underway, police officers in the county are reminding motorists not to leave any valuables on display inside their vehicles.

Motorists are being reminded to ensure gifts and desirable items such as Satellite Navigation equipment are not on display to would-be thieves.

Sergeant Stephen Britton said: “Even though we have low crime in Pembrokeshire and the county is one of the safest places to live, we still need to use common sense.

“Please don’t leave anything of value on display in your car, even if you are only leaving it for a short while.

“Employing a few simple measures can help to deter would-be thieves and keep your property safe.”

Sergeant Britton adds: “Unfortunately despite numerous warnings there are a core of motorists that still don’t realise the dangers of leaving their valuables on show in their car.

“If anything of value has to be left with the vehicle it should be locked away in the boot and kept out of sight.

“At this time of year everyone has Christmas presents on their mind, but some people are not prepared to pay for them.”
