The Met Office has issued a series of warnings for potentially heavy snow for much of west Wales overnight and into tomorrow (Friday) morning.

Much of Pembrokeshire is covered by a yellow ‘be prepared’ snow warning with some central parts of the county also covered by the Met Office’s higher amber ‘be prepared’ warning.

The warnings are valid between 3am on Friday morning and 9pm that evening.

Areas further east in Wales have been placed under the highest red ‘take action’ warning.

The Met Office said that accumulations of more than 5-10cm of snow will occur widely “with 15cm in some western parts of the amber area, falling within 3-6 hours.

“The public should be prepared for disruption, including altering travel plans.”
