A sex offender from Haverfordwest has been jailed after he broke a court order in 32 different ways.

Paul Adam Wood, aged 50, had been jailed in 2003 for indecently assaulting a female.

In 2009 Dyfed-Powys police successfully applied for a sexual offences prevention order, which Haverfordwest magistrates made without limit of time.

Kevin Jones, prosecuting, told Swansea crown court the order banned Wood from using a computer that could access the internet or possessing a camera.

Police became aware that Wood had enrolled on a college course and had been given a laptop to help him study.

Officers raided the home of Wood and another property and found computers, memory sticks, mobile telephones and cameras, which revealed a catalogue of indecent images.

Wood admitted twice breaching the sex offences prevention order, and a further 30 offences of making and possessing indecent images of children and possessing extreme pornography.

Mr Jones said police also found a film depicting a child being raped. The extreme pornography included photographs of sex with animals.

During the investigation Wood walked into a police station and told officers he was homeless and also told them where they could find further examples of pornography he had downloaded from the internet.

Wood's barrister, Chris James, said: "He needs help. His family has turned against him."

Judge Peter Heywood jailed Wood for 14 months and banned Wood from ever working with children or vulnerable adults.
