PENSIONERS in Milford Haven got an early taste of Christmas last weekend at a special festive lunch.
The OAPs were treated to a three-course Christmas meal courtesy of a group of local youngsters.
The free Christmas lunch - followed by a bingo session - was organised by members of Milford Haven Youth Council.
The youngsters raised funds and also approached local businesses for support to put on the festive treat.
Christmas cakes and crackers were prepared beforehand with five Christmas hampers put up for raffle.
On the day the young people helped prepare the food and waited on their elderly neighbours at table.
Councillor Simon Hancock, Cabinet Member for Adult Services, who dropped in on the lunch, said it was good to see the youngsters looking after the older residents of their community.
“It was a wonderful example of Christmas spirit - something we can too easily forget in today’s commercial world,” he said.
Pembrokeshire County Council Youth Worker Nick Hudd, said the young people had put in a lot of effort to ensure the pensioners enjoyed themselves.
