HUNDREDS of protesters are on their way to Cardiff this morning to demonstrate outside the Senedd against the removal of women and children’s services from Withybush Hospital.
The demonstration, organised by the Save Withybush Action Team, is one of a number held over the last year in a bid to stop Hywel Dda University Health Board closing the Special Care Baby Unit at Withybush.
They are also calling on changes to obstetrics and paediatrics to be stopped.
SWAT chairman Chris Overton has said previously: “We need to send the message out to the health board and the health minister that Wales doesn’t end in Carmarthen and the people of Pembrokeshire are part of Wales. We should have access to the same services as people in the rest of Wales.
“We need to show, through a good turnout, that we are determined to fight the changes proposed.”
Western Telegraph reporter Jenny Hanson is on board one of the eight buses heading to Cardiff, look out for updates throughout the day.
