PANCAKE-lovers in Milford Haven had a flipping good evening on Tuesday (March 4), when they raced through the town to raise money for charity.

This was the second annual run organised by Trafalgar pub landlord and landlady David Blackhall and Sally Allen to cook up extra cash for Meningitis Now.

Local families and friends completed a round trip of the town centre, and then it was back to the Trafalgar for a pancake or two, a disco for the kids, and a charity pool match.

And making sure no-one slipped up along the way were Byron Jenkins and Mike Smailes, volunteers from the West Wales Ambulance Service.

Sally and David have both seen the devastating effect Meningitis can have, and are keen to help raise money and awareness of the illness.

David said he was thrilled with how many turned out to support this year’s event, and he hoped it would continue to grow.

“Now we’ve left our mark on Pancake Day, we hope to do it every year,” he said.

Last year’s run made £300 for the charity, and David said he hopes this year’s efforts will be just as successful.

To boost the total, the Trafalgar will also be hosting a charity band night on March 22, with local bands playing.
