A YOUNG mother from Milford Haven, who developed a chronic pelvic condition while pregnant with her son, will now be able to get out and about a lot easier.

Natalie Pusalkar, 28, developed Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction three years ago, and has been dependent on a heavy, awkward wheelchair to get around.

In a bid to help give her sister her independent back, Natalie’s younger sibling Natasha Davies organised a host of fundraising events to raise money for a new lightweight chair.

Through a sponsored coast path walk, a bake sale and coffee morning, a sponsored ‘dry-athon’ and other events, Natasha and friends raised more than £3,000 – enough to buy a new chair, and with money left over for an acupuncture course for Natalie. The sisters will also be donating £600 to Cancer Research UK.

Among those making donations were Milford Haven Round Table, who gave £300, and Craig Smith, who raised over £500.

“My sister now has her new wheelchair, which is absolutely amazing, she's now able to take her son to school and out to play without someone to assist,” said Natasha.

“We have been overwhelmed with the help and cooperation with our community.”

Natasha said the sisters would also like to thank Snowdrop Mobility, Haverfordwest; The Harbourmaster and The Masonic Hall, in Milford Haven; and Paul Casson, Walkability Project Co-ordinator at the Pembrokeshire COAST, and Lee Bridges at Fun-times bouncy castle hire.

Craig is also hosting a charity night at Milford Haven RFC on Saturday, April 12, to raise money for Cancer Research, tickets are £10.
