DO YOU play or want to play a brass musical instrument?

In addition to its new senior and junior sections, Milford Haven Town Band is now starting a beginners’ section, to help people develop their creativity and have fun too.

Junior band leader Bron Parrat, 20, has played in bands since she was eight years old.

She said she has gained so much experience from being part of a band, from playing the last post for Remembrance Day to playing in the Millennium Stadium.

“Being part of the band has so many advantages, you learn to have responsibilities, you are committed, it helps your social skills and confidence and so much more.

“If I hadn't had started playing when I was younger then I wouldn't have had hardly any of the experiences that I have now and this is why I think it is so important to give the younger children this chance too which is why I am so keen to start another band for beginners,” she said.

“It's not only the serious engagements or competitions that we do, we also do carnivals, fetes and at Christmas we have fun carolling around the county, we also have social gatherings such as bowling nights.”

The beginners’ band meets at 6pm at Hubberston Community Centre, every Tuesday. For more information ring Bron on 07415 887228.
