TRIBUTES have been paid to a Milford Haven man, who died in a motorbike accident in the early hours of Monday morning (April 28).

The man, in his mid-30s, has been named locally as Luke Allerton. He was taken to hospital after a collision on The Rath, Milford Haven, but could not be saved.

The incident happened at about 12.15am, and the road was closed for several hours while police examined the scene.

By Monday evening, friends and family had left flowers near to where the incident happened, along with messages of condolence to ‘Luke the duke’- as he was known.

Chizy said: “Sad news about a tragic accident. My thoughts are with the family. RIP Luke.”

Beth Phillips added: “RIP mate, thoughts are with family and kids xx.”

The accident is the third motorcycle fatality in Pembrokeshire in recent weeks.

Speaking yesterday, Dyfed-Powys Police and Crime Commissioner Christopher Salmon said: “It’s always distressing to hear of untimely deaths – and I’m constantly reminded by the people of Dyfed-Powys that they see road safety as hugely important."

He added that he couldn't comment on specific incidents, but implored people across the county to treat the roads with 'care and respect'.

Mr Salmon has just agreed to buy two more unmarked police motorbikes to be used for speed enforcement duties, general patrols and road safety campaigns.

Anyone with information about the accident on The Rath should call police on 101.
