PEMBROKESHIRE Parkinson’s Group (PPG) has been given a £1,000 boost from Barry Webb, of Haverfordwest.

“It’s a charity that is very close to my heart,” said Barry. “I lost my wife Rhiannon recently and the local Parkinson’s Group were so supportive to her and this money is my way of saying a huge thank you.”

The group meets every Wednesday at the H.O.P.E. Centre, Honeyborough Industrial Estate, Neyland, 10am-2pm, where sufferers can meet informally and at the same time receive specialised treatments. These treatments include physiotherapy, alternative therapies, aromatherapy, reflexology and podiatry.

“We are only part funded,” said PPG chairman Norman Gray. “Any donation is important to us so that the branch can continue giving the support and services that sufferers require.”

The centre provides oxygen and physio therapies to people with multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, Parkinson’s, and those who have experienced a stroke.
