NEYLAND’s new play park has been given a cash boost of £1,000 from the town’s theatre company.

Neyland Theatre Company presented a cheque for £1,000 to Mayor of Neyland Cllr Maureen Molyneux recently, who thanked them for their generous donation to her charitable fund for the new equipment in Neyland playpark.

Speaking on behalf of the theatre company, Keith Jones said: “We wanted to support the playpark scheme, because the more you can enhance Neyland as far as children are concerned the better.”

“Through their fund raising efforts the theatre company has supported many charities as well as individual people,” said Mayor Cllr Molyneux.

"Mr Jones and all the cast of Neyland Amateur Dramatics are to be commended on all their hard work and dedication over many years and I look forward to their celebration next year which will mark 30 years of entertainment here in Neyland.

“The shows and panto's are something everyone thoroughly enjoys and looks forward to every year. It is good to see young people being encouraged into gaining theatrical experience.

“I wish everyone involved with the marvellous productions every continued success."

The money was raised in part from the theatre company’s recent production of musical ‘Highland Fling’, which was performed at Neyland Athletic Club.

The company is open to performers and crew of all ages, and meets every Monday in Neyland. For more information, contact Keith Jones on 01646 600239.
