A TWO-day family fun day at Brunel Quay has been hailed a great success by organisers Neyland Town Council.

The free event, which took place on Saturday and Sunday, saw families enjoy activities including circus skills with Panic Circus, bubble blowing, gladiator-style fighting, a Punch and Judy show, a ‘test your strength’ competition and bouncy castles.

Brenda Hannon, who attended with her family, said it had been “a lovely day, and just on your doorstep”.

Town councillor, and newly-elected deputy mayor, Margaret Brace said she had been very pleased with the attendance.

“Everyone who turned up stayed for several hours, and really seemed to enjoy themselves,” she said.

“We had wanted to do something to give back to the people of Neyland, and make the most of the beautiful location.

“We hope to build on its success next year.”

She thanked Neyland Yacht Haven for its help with promoting the event, and Enterprise Cycles, Neyland Co-op, Castle Photography, Heatherton, Manor Park for their donations of raffle prizes.

Dyfed-Powys Police’s neighbourhood policing team were also on hand to give advice about staying safe, and children enjoyed making ‘fingerprint keyrings’ to take home with them.

Chief Inspector Angela Reed said: “We have been working to offer a range of ways for people to be able to contact and meet us – and the introduction of these brand new iDome tents is another opportunity for us to be more accessible out in our communities.”
