PLANS that could see a 66-acre solar farm built on land near Llanstadwell went on display at a public consultation last Friday (May 22).

Locals had the chance to see the outline plans for the Leonardston Farm site, which could generate enough energy to power 4,500 homes.

Plans for the project are yet to be submitted to Pembrokeshire County Council, but if successful the farm would be a 25-year project, and would take between three and four months to build.

A spokesman for Llanstadwell Community Council said councillors had expressed concern about the “possible effect on the landscape and tourism, both of which are extremely important issues in this part of Pembrokeshire”.

The project is being planned by GVa in Cardiff, on behalf of Elgin Energy - the firm behind the 19,000-panel solar farm planned at Rhoscrowther.
