A FREE festival in Milford Haven this weekend is offering two days of dance for professionals, enthusiasts and those who want to get their bodies moving for the first time.

Arts Care Gofal Celf (ACGC) is holding its fifth annual dance festival, D14, at the port of Milford Haven on June 14 and 15.

The festival's first day will feature a sponsored danceathon, which aims to raise £4,000 for ACGC's Touch Trust outreach project. This provides a unique creative movement project to children and young people living with physical or learning disabilities, those with autistic spectrum disorder and those living with multiple and profoundly complex needs.

Participants will be able to join in four very different one hour workshops, all lead by professionals, with the aim of dancing for as long as possible. It costs £5 to join in and sponsor forms are available from ACGC's dance development manager Laura Jenkins.

The Sunday features seven hours of free workshops and performances in a myriad of styles from belly dance to musical theatre.

The festival's main stage will host performances by choreographers, dance companies, groups, troops, colleges, community companies and soloists.

Lucy James, Marketing Manager at the Port of Milford Haven, said the Port was "delighted to be supporting the D14 festival".

"After a consultation with the organisers, Arts Care Gofal Celf, we realised that after four years of successful one-day events taking place in conjunction with Pembrokeshire Fish Week and great support from Pembrokeshire County Council, that the programme could support a two-day celebration.

"The enthusiasm of ACGC has been infectious and we’re excited to be supporting them to make this two-day event a great success.”
