EIGHT places are up for grabs in a youth theatre project inspired by the work of Dylan Thomas.

The Torch Theatre’s Summer School is looking for four girls and four boys to perform a piece inspired by the poet’s most famous work, Under Milk Wood.

The 14 to 19-year-olds will work together for two weeks, supported by Torch education officers Johnny Lock and Chloe Wheeler, before taking part in two performances on Friday, August 22.

“Under Milk Wood is one of Dylan Thomas’ most well know works and is studied by young people across Wales,” said Johnny.

“With that in mind we wanted to revamp this classic play and give it some new life.”

Tales From A Small Town is an original devised piece of theatre which aims to capture what life is like in the small towns and villages throughout the county.

“From Tenby to Milford, Haverfordwest to Pembroke, we discover the characters, the places and the stories behind the people,” said Johnny.

“We can’t wait to get started.”

If you would like to be involved in the project and are aged between 14 and 19, or would like to join The Torch’s Youth Theatre from September, email education@torchtheatre.co.uk.
