A NEW scheme sees the police working with local pubs and clubs to reduce violence and disorder in the town.

The recently launched Behave or Be Banned Scheme (BOBB) will see Milford Haven Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) and licensees work together to reduce crime and bad behaviour in the area.

Now, once banned from a specific pub, any 'problem' customers will also be banned from all those in the area that have signed up.

It is hoped the scheme will also tackle underage drinking and the use and supply of drugs.

So far, 14 licensees have signed up to the scheme.

PCSO Laura Galdo of Milford Haven NPT said: “BOBB is an effective tool to help prevent, reduce and combat alcohol-related offences within the town.

“The message is simple – Behave or Be Banned! In addition, if someone is a persistent nuisance for a licensee but whose behaviour does not merit arrest, licensees can also put these persons forward to receive a ban from all licensed premises.”

She added: “BOBB works. It is not uncommon to see people being more concerned about whether they can get into a pub with their friends than they are about being arrested.

"Licensees will not tolerate anti-social behaviour in their premises and BOBB keeps such people out, making it safer and more enjoyable for everyone else."
