There has been a collision between a car and a child on Great North Road Milford Haven this afternoon.

The Dyfed-Powys Police helicopter is understood to have airlifted the child from the scene after landing at Marble Hall football ground.

Several emergency vehicles were called to the collision.

An ambulance spokesman said: "Reports a car had collided with a child on Great North Rd in Milford Haven
"We sent a rapid response car and an ambulance to the scene."

A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesman said: "At approx. 4.10pm this afternoon, police were alerted to an RTC in Great North Road, Milford Haven, where a car was in collision with a boy.

"Paramedics were at the scene, and the police helicopter was requested to convey the boy to hospital. He has been conveyed to Morriston hospital. The extent of his injuries is unclear at this time. There will be traffic diversions in place from Steynton for a period."

The earlier Western Telegraph traffic report service stated: "A4076 Great North Road partially blocked due to accident between Vaynor Road and Marble Hall Road / Pill Road. Police directing traffic. Emergency services are attending to the collision near to Kingston Vets."
