Health centre almost ready

A NEW state-of-the-art medical centre is nearing completion in south Pembrokeshire.

Developers PCD Pembrokeshire are building the centre on the grounds of the old primary school in Argyle Street, Pembroke Dock.

They say their plans will create a modern, light and friendly unit while enhancing the area. The completion date is due later this month when two local GP practices will move into the unit from Dimond Street and Laws Street.

In addition to the current services provided by the GPs, space has also been allocated for a pharmacy and an optician.

Parking for up to 80 cars is also included which it is hoped will end the problem of limited on-street parking.

It has taken Roy Davies and Valerie Hyde, directors at PCD Pembrokeshire over six years to get this project off the ground.

They had to work closely with local GPs, local council and the Local Health Board before the project got the go-ahead.
