Goodwick United 1 Neyland 5.

Neyland produced a five-star performance at Phoenix Park to make it six wins in a row as they easily accounted for an off-key Goodwick side.

The Phoenix boys produced a performance described by manager Bernie Armstrong as their "worst of the season by miles. Neyland were head and shoulders above us."

In sharp contrast, Neyland manager Mark Bossy' Edwards was delighted by the continued sparkle shown by his team as they established a deserved three-goal interval lead and were never troubled thereafter.

A special mention also for referee Brian Morris, who usually runs the line for Goodwick but stepped in when no match official turned up. Neyland sportingly agreeing to his taking up the whistle.

Neyland took the lead with a goal from Sean Hannon. He moved up from his right-back berth to fire home a right-footer which gave Carl Woodhouse little chance - and Woodhouse was again left exposed after a long ball by Jason Phillips allowed ace striker Bryan Mathias to turn his marker and find the net for Neyland's second goal.

Even worse was to follow for Goodwick as Phillips switched from creator to scorer as he sent in a right-foot rocket which flew into the top corner.

Any hopes that Goodwick had of a come-back foundered as Neyland blunted their attacks - and Campbell showed he can score as well as stop goals when he joined his attack and scored from a Jason Phillips' cross.

Goodwick grabbed a consolation score as Paul Hannon conceded a penalty and Steve Evans (snr) scored but Neyland had the final word when Jason Phillips found space on the right and crossed for Bryan Mathias to claim his second goal.
