A SECOND youth appeared in court at Kilmarnock yesterday on charges of
murder and attempted murder after two shooting incidents in the Beith
area last week. Mr Ian Dickie, 19, of Daverna Way, Barrhead, is charged
with the shotgun murder of Mr Robert Crawford outside his home in
Blackthorn Avenue, Beith, on July 29 and with the attempted murder of
four youths in a car parked at Ailsa View caravan park, Neilston,
Renfrewshire, the following day. One of the youths was seriously injured
when a shotgun was fired at the vehicle. No plea or declaration was made
and Mr Dickie was remanded in custody. On Monday Mr Fraser Winton, 19,
of Neilston, was remanded in custody when he appeared on similar
charges.
