TWO men were remanded for seven days yesterday charged with firearms

offences. Frank Portonari, 36, and James McCrudden, 32, were arrested on

bank holiday Monday when heavily armed police went to a public house car

park in Perry Barr, Birmingham, after a tip-off. Seven semi-automatic

pistols and more than 200 rounds of ammunition were recovered. They were

charged at Birmingham Magistrates Court with possessing firearms in a

public place and possessing firearms with intent to endanger life.
