THE owner of a family-run café has helped cook up £2,000 for charity.

Scott Gregory can usually be found working at Caddies Cafe in Freystrop and running an outside catering business, but he still finds time to raise money for good causes.

Scott organised a Buffet and Cabaret Night at Hook Sports and Social Club to raise money for Prostate Cymru and Little Haven and Broad Haven RNI.

Both charities were recently presented with a cheque each for £1,000, which included match-funding from Barclays Bank.

Andy Grey, Lifeboat operations manager at Little Haven and Broad Haven RNLI, said Scott had chosen the charity as it had helped save his son and three of his friends when they got into difficulty near Druidston and Broad Haven.

John Daniels, Secretary of Pembrokeshire Friends of Prostate Cymru, said: “Scott’s donation and the match funding represents a growing surge of support throughout Pembrokeshire for Prostate Cymru, as people recognise the need to support those in the battle against a cancer that affects one in eight men in Wales.”

Catherine Parsons, of Barclays Bank Milford Haven, said she was extremely proud to have the opportunity to boost Scott’s fundraising total, and help support two great charities.

“To have the additional support of pound for pound matched funding from Barclays Bank meant that we were able to double the funds that the charities received,” said Catherine.

“All credit to Scott Gregory and the outstanding team at Caddies Cafe for the incredible food and entertainment that made the event an undoubted success!”
