RABBIT owners are being encouraged to hop into action to improve their pets' health and environment.

As part of Rabbit Awareness Week, which runs until May 17, the RSPCA Pembrokeshire Branch is working with several local veterinary surgeries to provide free neutering, vaccination and microchipping.

All owners have to do is to make an appointment with a participating vet during the week and the treatment can be carried out at a later date.

RSPCA branch support specialist for south west Wales Lorna Barker said: “This year for Rabbit Awareness Week we are delighted that several vets in Pembrokeshire have decided to team up with us to promote responsible ownership and to help people improve their pets health.

“The vets involved are Kingston Veterinary Group in Pembroke, The Oak Veterinary Surgery in Haverfordwest, Tenby Vets and Market Hall Vets in Kilgetty, who will be offering free neutering, vaccination and microchipping.

“All Pets Vets in Milford Haven are also participating and will be offering free neutering.”
