CRAFTERS of all ages are invited to take part in some ‘fin-tastic’ competitions in the run up to Milford Fish Festival.

The Port of Milford Haven is holding a window dressing contest to offer prizes for the best fish-themed homes, businesses or any other premises to get the whole town into the fishy spirit.

Local schools are also getting involved by designing bunting, and all ages are welcome to submit their design.

A template can be downloaded from www.milfordfishfestival.co.uk under the ‘Fishy Fun’ section and the entries will be displayed around Milford Fish Docks during the festival on Saturday, June 27.

Nick Dyer, headteacher of Hakin and Hubberston schools, said: “I can’t wait to see the children’s bunting festooning our town, with artwork from young people right across our schools and community."

Also supporting the festival is head of art at Milford Haven School Elizabeth Devonald, who said: “Pupils will be trawling the depths of their artistic talents to brighten up the Fish Festival.”

Lucy James, Marketing Manager at the Port of Milford Haven, said: “These competitions are designed to get the whole community involved and celebrate the passion that everyone has for the fishing industry here. We’re looking forward to seeing lots of colourful entries.”

Judging for the competitions will take place in the week leading up to the event.
