ARMS bands at the ready! Milford Haven’s outdoor paddling pool is now open for the summer holidays.

Volunteers, including town mayor Cllr Stephen Joseph and Cllr Rose Gray and family, went down to the pool on the Rath recently to help staff from the Meads Leisure Centre weed the area, clean and paint the pool, and get it ready for summer.

The open air pool will be open between 10am and 5pm Monday to Friday, and between 10am and 4pm on weekends.

It is manned by lifeguards from leisure centre during opening hours, but closes for lunch.

Cllr Joseph said he hoped in future to set up training for members of the public to become volunteer lifeguards, to help cover the lunchtime shift, and take the pressure off leisure centre staff.

The maximum age is usually eight years old, but children up to the age of 11 are allowed in as part of a family group with adult supervision.

Opening is dependent on the weather, for more information and to check the pool is open, please contact Milford Haven Leisure Centre on 01437 775959 before you go down.
