A ONE-man show highlighting the glamorous highs and heartbreaking lows of Carry On.... actor Charles Hawtrey that started life in Milford Haven is proving to be a huge hit at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Such was the demand for tickets for 'Oh Hello' - written by Dave Aintree and performed by the Torch Theatre's own Jamie Rees - that an extra performance has now been scheduled, after tickets for initial shows sold out.

The show, which travelled to Cardiff earlier this year, started life at the Torch Theatre last autumn, where Jamie Rees’ touching and turbulent portrayal of one of Britain’s most recognisable comic actors was rewarded with a well-deserved standing ovation.

Charting Hawtrey’s life over several decades, and his transformation from a leading light of British film to a lonely and bitter old man, it has earned rave reviews for its depiction of the actor's struggle with depression and isolation, during a time where people could still be prosecuted for their sexuality.

It runs until the end of the month.
