DRIVERS are again being warned of the dangers of speeding, after a motorist was spotted travelling at 65mph through Tiers Cross.

Police have been targetting the area, after residents complained of drivers repeatedly breaking the 40mph limit.

Sergeant Gary Jones, of Pembrokeshire Roads Policing Unit, said: “Tiers Cross residents had made police aware of their concern in relation to traffic speeding in the area.

"In response to these concerns the Roads Policing Unit have been conducting speed check operations in the area in a bid to address this.

"A number of motorists have been dealt with for the offence of speeding, and we hope this sends a clear message that speeding will not be tolerated.

"Remember, you’re twice as likely to kill someone you hit at 35mph than you are at 30mph for example.”

The minimum penalty for speeding is a £100 fine and three penalty points added to your licence.

You could be disqualified from driving if you build up 12 or more penalty points within a period of three years.
