FANCY winning a trip on a pilot boat that you have named?

The Port of Milford Haven has launched a competition giving the public the chance to name three new pilot boats which will be brought into service next year.

The vessels, currently being built by Mainstay Marine Solutions at Pembroke Port, are designed to be used extensively in heavy weather, capable of operating in swells up to five metres in wave height.

The pilot boats are a major asset for the Port and enable pilots to be safely transferred to and from ships entering and leaving the haven 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Entries must be one word, have local relevance, be easy to pronounce, and have no commercial references.

The winning entrants will receive a trip on the pilot boat that they have named (minimum age applies, an alternative boat trip will be provided for those aged under 12).

Entries can be submitted by post, email or on the Port’s Facebook page by Friday, November 13, and must include the boat name, reason, your name, email address and phone number. The winners will be announced in December 2015.

Please post entries to Port of Milford Haven, Gorsewood Drive, Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire, SA73 3EP, email prdepartment@mhpa.co.uk or visit www.facebook.com/PortOfMilfordHaven.
