TWO men have been arrested after an incident in Market Street, Haverfordwest, last night (Sunday, January 24).

A 19-year-old and an 18-year-old, from the Haverfordwest area, remain in police custody after they were arrested on suspicion of affray.

At approximately 6pm police received reports from the public that two men were in possession of weapons in a public place, threatening another man.

In response, armed police officers attended the scene and entered a block of flats on Goat Street, before arresting the suspects.

Neighbours heard shouting coming from the area, and witnesses then reported seeing 'armed police with guns and tasers' battering at the door to gain access to the flats.

One man was leaving the Palace Cinema with his 12-year-old daughter when he saw police cars and vans, and officers with guns.

"I just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible," he said.

The area remained closed until after 8pm, when police left the scene.
