THE impressive sound of the Corps of the Drums of the Welsh Guards parading through Pembroke heralded the start of a day of events celebrating the Queen's 90th birthday today (Thursday).
Mayor of Pembroke Dock Cllr Peter Kraus and Pembroke town councillor Aden Brinn also completed a charity abseil at Pembroke Castle, with proceeds going to the Welsh Guards Charity.
Children and local people lined the streets to wave the parade past, as Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her 90th year today.
