PEMBROKESHIRE residents are being encouraged to help a local charitable trust raise £100,000 for disadvantaged children.

The Princes Gate Trust is the charity arm of Princes Gate Spring Water, which produces over 120m bottles of spring water each year.

The business, set up by brothers David and Glyn Jones in 1991, has raised over £150,000 for a number of Wales-based charities in the last 25 years.

And it strengthened its charitable endeavours in 2014 by setting up the Princes Gate Trust, which went on to raise more than £100,000 in its first year alone through a variety of fundraising events and challenges.

Amongst the inspirational and spirited young people it has helped is 13-year-old Shannon Folena from Haverfordwest who was seriously injured in a road accident.

The Princes Gate Trust provided an ‘eye-gazer’ machine, which has enabled her to interact with her family.

Fundraising for the trust this year will be boosted by events including the Velothon Wales and Carten100 cycle rides, Ironman Wales and the St David’s Hotel & Spa Zip Wire Challenge.

The trust has also been chosen to receive half the proceeds of the Manic Street Preachers’ official Wales Euro 2016 song, ‘Together Stronger (C’mon Wales)’, in partnership with The Football Association of Wales.

Said Princes Gate managing director, David Jones: “Our 25th anniversary is a significant landmark for our business.

“It is something we’re incredibly proud of and something that wouldn’t be possible without the support of our very talented and dedicated team of employees.

“In reaching this milestone, we wanted to up the ante in terms of our fundraising efforts for the trust.

“We already have the support of some fantastic corporate supporters, individual fundraisers and brand ambassadors, and we are hopeful that many others will join us in our mission to change lives and create smiles.”
